“You’ve got to understand. Coffee and tea are not just drinks here in North Africa, they are doorways to conversation”

How do you share the gospel in a region where Gospel access is restricted? What role does the global Church play in what God is doing in Greater North Africa? And who is He calling to go?

In this video, you’ll hear from global workers as they share what it looks like to live and serve in creative-access contexts, how the Global Church Body can be involved, and an invitation to come and join the work that God is already doing.

STEP ONE: WATCH

Cups to Christ (3 minutes and 50 seconds) together as a group (with maybe your favorite drink in hand) and then read through the discussion questions below:

STEP TWO: SHARE

  • Was there anything that surprised you about what the global workers shared in this video?

  • When one of the workers said “I can hardly think of any instance where I've been to somebody's house and not had some sort of refreshment. You have to come in, you have to sit, you have to drink. It's so linked with 'be with me.' Like if we are drinking, we are together.” What does this quote reveal about how this culture views hospitality and relationships? How might that be different from your own context?

  • Why do you think relationships are so central to sharing the gospel in this context?

  • The workers describe prayer as the place where the “real work” happens. How does that challenge or shape your view of prayer?

  • What challenges and opportunities come with ministry in a creative-access country?

  • God is on the move in North Africa – how can you be involved in what He is doing?
